What is Gloxa - FAQ

Gloxa put in Groups Tweets Filtered by Tags from Subscribers.

Selected Contents from Selected Users Joining a Selected Community.

What's the difference between Lists in Twitter and Groups in Gloxa ? On Twitter you Create Lists of users.

On Gloxa you Create Groups of Tweets Filtered by Tags.

You can't insert people into Gloxa Groups. People have to subscribe to take part of it because they share the same interests.

You define the tags, and you'll see only the tweets with the tag you choose.

You can see tweets only if they contains the tags you choose:

  1. first of all from the subscribers only,
  2. secondly from Twitter's public Timeline.

Less noise. More quality. Only from interested subscribers joining you.

Tag is the core to select tweets. Secondly embeds let you promote the group in every website.

A Group is a community sharing the same interests, not someone's list of users.

Some real examples of Groups.

Group DIRITTO: Visit: http://www.gloxa.eu/public/group.php?id=10

Italian Lawyers discuss about a recent reform, offering links to documents and comments.

They talk togheter, share infos, post tweets and are even promoted on Civile.it where the embed is published to promote the group: http://www.civile.it/news/gloxa20.php

The difference is that they talk togheter in group.

Group SENTENZE: Visit: http://www.gloxa.eu/public/group.php?id=17

Everyone joining the group highlight each tweet containing words: "sentenze", "cassazione" and so on.

Everyone is in evidence also in RicercaGiuridica.com, a database of cases, so RicercaGiuridica.com has also a News section.

See: http://www.ricercagiuridica.com/gloxa.php

The difference is that you can embed in your site a focused list of interesting links.

Group LAW: Visit: http://www.gloxa.eu/public/group.php?id=16

The italian Lawyer Mario Sabatino tags some of his tweets with #law.

He has created a small group of italian professionals using the same tag.

He has few posts, all in english, all regarding international laws.

The difference is he receives help from other Gloxer in his unusual (in Italy) research.

The few subscribers joining the group are italian lawyers interested in international laws.

Now you know where to find some kind of lawyers.

Group ARBITRATO: Visit: http://www.gloxa.eu/public/group.php?id=14

Some as LAW, by avv. Giovanni Maglio, but regards arbitrage in Italy.

Is the use of hashtaghs really useful in Twitter ? Of course anybody can use hashtags. If we searched the Twitter's timeline using hashtags we could even find useless and incongruent search results.

But what about the use of hashtags in Gloxa's Groups ?

Using hashtags you can have a group of tweets, filtered by the group's subscribers only.

In a nutshell: less contents, more quality, a group and a real social experience. Moreover other users can read your updates, and post other links to add more content on it.

Hashtags reduce chars Hashtags are often less then 10 chars.

Links, with the bookmarklet offered by Gloxa or Tweetdeck, are immediatly reduced.

In few words if you use tweetdesk or our bookmarklet you "lose" only 10 chars, and obtain more visibility.

But Gloxa supports even Words without #, so you don't really need to use tags to participate to your groups.

Visibility improved even without using Gloxa You can use Twitter as you do every day. With Twitter or other tools, like twitpic, tweetdeck, Seesmic, Delicious, FriendFeed, Youtube ...

Gloxa updates your posts every 4 minute. It does immediatly if you post from Gloxa.

So if you find an interesting video about "north pole" in youtube, you can twitter the video using "#northpole" with youtube.

Gloxa will take your post and will put it in the group called "North Pole" that you have created with the filter "#northpole".

If other subscribers of the group will use as you the same hashtag (or the same words), their tweets will be automagically in the group.

Selected contents from selected users.

What about embeds ? Gloxa offers free embeds. You can put them your site without asking to your users to leave it.

And everyone can embed your group.

The support of Twitter gives more visibily to everyone, expecially now after agreements with Google and Bing.

How Gloxa is useful for me ? Gloxa let you manage groups.

You can use groups to give infos to actual and potential customers from your site.

You can also make groups with professionals you don't know, and follow what they have to say and how they work.

What about the bookmarklet ? The bookmarklet is a small tool you drag on the bar of Firefox or you add in Favorites in Internet Explorer.

When you browse on the net and you find something interesting you can click on the button: "Gloxa Post" and send a tweet with the url (the url is reduced with Tinyurl).

You can find the bookmarklet on the bottom of every page.

What makes Gloxa different from other directories, as Twellow for example ? Gloxa offers more complete accounts: so everyone can find more infos about you, more ways to contact you (skype for example), and can see on a Google Map where everyone is located.

This a tipical directory function but, in Gloxa, you can also read what everyone writes and the groups everyone has subscribed.

And Gloxa even list favorite arguments for every user: let's see this final demo, a complete account from Sabatino: http://www.gloxa.eu//public/user.php?id=7

So Gloxa is:
  1. Groups: selected contents from selected users.
  2. Directory: complete profiles of every gloxer.

And you have not to use Gloxa. You can also tweet with the tools you prefer.
